The owner is an avid photographer, and astrophotographer. This tour will specialize in doing photography while touring the island. As any photographer knows, Golden Hour for photography is during sunrise or sunset when the light makes for great contrast. We will work with you to decide a start time that could include sunrise or sunset, whose times vary by about an hour throughout the year. We can work with you to determine a start time. This is a private tour, so you get the tour guide, and tour van to yourselves for up to 8 hours, similar to our regular tour of the island, but this one specializes in photography. We provide Private, Custom, tours of the island of Oahu. You can set the itinerary or leave it up to our expert guides, or a mix of both. We've been giving tours since 2012. We like to start our island tours at 8:30am.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for this photography tour? Can kids join?

A: There’s no strict age limit for the Oahu photography tour! Families are welcome, and they provide car seats or booster seats for little ones. Just keep in mind that the tour might involve some hiking or walking, so it’s best for kids who can handle that. It could be a fun way to get them into photography too!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad? Can we reschedule?

A: If the weather isn’t cooperating, you can definitely reschedule! The tour company is pretty flexible and they understand how crucial good lighting is for photography. Just reach out to them ahead of time, and they’ll work with you to find an alternative time that suits you.

Q: What's the best time to book this? Are sunrise tours really worth it?

A: Definitely consider a sunrise tour! The light is magical during those early hours, and the beaches are way less crowded. It’ll make for some incredible photos. I recommend booking at least a couple of weeks in advance, especially if you have specific dates in mind. Just remember to check the sunrise time for the day you choose!
