Our Pikes Peak group tour is one of the top things to do in Colorado! This tour begins at the Pikes Peak Adventure Center (Colorado Springs) with some coffee and a light breakfast. Once we finish breakfast, we will head out to the top of the mountain in our 15-passenger vans! Your bike ride begins at the summit of Pikes Peak (14,115 feet) where you can take photos and enjoy the breath-taking 360 degree view of Colorado for as far as the eye can see! As we work our way down this majestic mountain, you will be in awe watching the scenery change as you bike through five separate climactic life zones! Don’t worry though, they won’t pass by without plenty of stops for pictures along the way! This unforgettable journey is designed for most abilities – some biking experience is required. If you have health concerns, please consult a physician for high altitude compatibility prior to participating. This activity has a strict weight restriction of 90-250 lbs.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the Pikes Peak Summit Downhill Bike Tour?

A: There isn't a strict age limit, but kids usually need to be at least 12 years old to participate. It really depends on their biking skills and comfort level with heights. If you're considering this as a gift, make sure they’re able to handle a bike and can deal with high altitudes. Personally, I took my 14-year-old nephew, and he had a blast!

Q: What should I wear for the bike ride? Is it cold at the summit?

A: It's best to dress in layers! At the summit, it can get chilly even in summer, so wear a light jacket that you can take off when you start biking down. I'd recommend moisture-wicking clothes and sturdy shoes. Also, don't forget sunscreen – the sun can be intense up there!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the tour?

A: If the weather isn't safe for biking—like heavy rain or snow—they'll likely cancel or reschedule the tour. They’ll let you know in advance, and you can usually pick a different date without any hassle. Just keep an eye on the forecast as your date approaches!

Just booked the Pikes Peak Summit Downhill Bike Tour for my boyfriend's birthday!

I’m so excited! We’re going next month, and it’s his first time biking downhill from a mountain. The views from the summit are supposed to be incredible. I just hope he’s up for it. He bikes occasionally, but I’ve heard this can be a bit challenging! Any tips for beginners?

Just did the Pikes Peak bike tour — what an experience!

OMG, we had the best time! The ride down was filled with breathtaking views and fun stops. The guides were super helpful and made sure we were safe the whole time. Totally worth it! Just a heads up, the altitude got to me a bit at the top, so take it easy if you’re not used to it. Can’t recommend this enough!
