We start with swimmers as young as 3. Our certified coaches instill safety foundations for the first time or build on what they already know. We inspire a love of water in idyllic settings using imaginary play. All of our coaches have a background in health or education and experience working with children in various settings. Along with swimming, we teach life-saving techniques like underwater escapes, and how to help your friend while staying safe. The goal is to create future generations of well-rounded water people.

Q: What age do kids have to be for the Pool and Ocean Safety Lesson?

A: They start teaching kids as young as 3 years old! It's really great because they use play to make it fun. My 5-year-old loved the underwater escape practice. The coaches are super patient and know how to keep kids engaged.

Q: What should kids wear for the lesson, and do we need to bring anything?

A: Kids should wear their swimsuits and maybe a rash guard for sun protection. You don’t need to bring much since they provide goggles and pool toys. Just pack a towel and some sunscreen, and you’re good to go!

Q: What if the weather doesn’t cooperate on the lesson day? Can we reschedule?

A: Good question! They try to reschedule in case of bad weather, so you won’t lose out. Just check with them a day before to confirm. I had to reschedule once because of rain, and they were super accommodating!

Thinking about gifting the Pool and Ocean Safety Lesson for my 4-year-old!

I’m really considering getting this experience for my daughter’s birthday. She loves the water but could definitely use some safety skills. We’ll be visiting Maui next month. Has anyone had a good experience with Swell Health Coaching? Are the coaches engaging for little ones?

We just wrapped up the lesson, and I can’t recommend it enough. The scenery in Maui is stunning, and my daughter learned so many valuable skills while having a blast with the pool toys. The instructors were super friendly and knowledgeable. Plus, seeing her enjoy the water so much was the best part!
