Q&A
A: Parking is pretty straightforward. There’s a lot near the boarding area on South Padre Island, and it’s usually $10 for the day. Just arrive a bit early to snag a good spot, especially on weekends. It’s a popular tour, so the earlier, the better!
A: Absolutely, it's great for kids! There’s no strict age limit, and children usually find the dolphins and the ship channel fascinating. Just keep in mind they should be comfortable on a boat. The crew is really good with families too!
A: Dress in layers! It can get windy on the water, so a light jacket is a good idea, even if it’s warm on land. Also, don’t forget your sunglasses and sunscreen. The sun can be pretty intense out there!

Just got back from the Port Brownsville Half-Day Boat Tour—Wow!
I went on the tour last weekend from South Padre Island, and it was incredible! The dolphins were such a treat to see up close, and our captain shared tons of interesting facts about the shrimping industry and the decommissioned vessels. Plus, the shrimp cocktail was delicious! I’m thinking of gifting this experience to my parents for their anniversary. Anyone else done it and have tips?
Considering the Port Brownsville tour for a family outing!
Thinking about booking the Port Brownsville Half-Day Boat Tour. My friends say it’s educational and fun, but I’m worried about my younger kids getting bored. Are there activities for them? How’s the vibe on the boat?
