Q&A
A: There’s no strict age limit for this tour, but it’s recommended for ages 10 and up. The stories and themes Dugan covers are more engaging for older kids and adults. If you do bring younger kids, just keep in mind the tour lasts about 2 hours, so they should be able to walk the 1.5-mile route without too much fuss!
A: If the weather looks really bad, the tour guides will usually reach out to reschedule or offer a refund. Dugan is super accommodating! Just keep an eye on your email for updates, especially if you booked in advance. Also, it's good to check the forecast before you go!
A: Honestly, late spring to early fall is ideal since the weather is usually nice. The Old Port area looks stunning in summer, but fall has those beautiful foliage views! Just remember, the tour runs year-round, so if you’re braver than me, winter could be an adventure too!

Thinking of gifting the Hidden Histories Tour in Portland!
I’m considering this walking tour for my parents who have always loved history, especially with local stories. I’ve heard Dugan does an awesome job presenting these unique tales about Portland! Does anyone have tips on what to wear or how to book it? I really want them to enjoy this.
Who else has done the Hidden Histories Tour?!
Just got back from the Hidden Histories Guided Walking Tour in Portland and wow, was it amazing! Dugan shared stories I’d never heard before, about the city's past that really reshaped my view of Maine. The two hours flew by and the 1.5-mile walk was super manageable. Anyone else have experiences to share?
