Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for this bird watching tour?

A: There's no strict age limit! Kids can come, but it’s recommended for ages 8 and up due to the quiet nature of the cruise. Just be sure they can sit quietly and enjoy the experience. Also, it's a good idea to bring some binoculars if you have them!

Q: What should I wear on this bird watching tour?

A: Dress in layers! It can get chilly on the water, especially if you're sailing. A windbreaker is a must, and don’t forget comfy shoes. If you plan on taking photos, bring a hat to keep the sun out of your eyes!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad? Can you reschedule?

A: Absolutely! If the weather isn’t safe for sailing, they’ll give you the option to reschedule your tour. Just make sure to call ahead if you're uncertain. They’re pretty flexible and want everyone to have a good experience.

Thinking about gifting the Bird Watching Tour, any advice?

I found this Private 3 hour Bird Watching Tour in Monterey Bay through Sail Monterey and it looks amazing! I'm considering it for my dad’s birthday. He loves birds but has never been on a boat. Would this be a good experience for first-timers? What kind of birds do they usually see?

Just got back from the Bird Watching Tour, and WOW!

I just did the Private Bird Watching Tour last weekend and it was epic! We spotted a ton of seabirds, including these amazing Brown Pelicans and a couple of Boobies. The crew was super friendly and the drinks made it way more fun. If you love photography, bring your camera! The views are unforgettable. Totally recommend as a gift!
