Q&A

Q: What should I wear for the tour? Is there a lot of walking involved?

A: I'd recommend wearing comfortable shoes because you will be doing some walking, especially when you cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge and visit various sites. Dress for the weather too since it can get hot in Alabama. Layers are a good idea in case it cools down in the evening!

Q: Can this tour be booked for a group? What's the max number of people?

A: Yes, this private tour can definitely accommodate groups! Just check with the provider about their maximum capacity, but I've seen groups of around 10 being comfortably managed. It's a great way to learn together!

Q: Is there a cancellation policy if the weather's bad?

A: The tour provider does have a flexible cancellation policy in cases of severe weather. It's best to contact them directly for specifics, but they usually allow for rescheduling without penalties if it’s unsafe to go.

Thinking about gifting the Selma and Montgomery tour—anyone done it?

I’m considering this private tour of Selma and Montgomery for my parents. They love history and this seems like a perfect fit! I saw it includes stops at places like Dexter Church and the Edmund Pettus Bridge, which they always talk about. Just wondering if it really captures the essence of the civil rights movement. Any tips or insights would be super helpful!

Just did the Civil Rights tour—what an experience!

I took this tour last weekend, and wow! Crossing the Edmund Pettus Bridge was such a powerful moment. The guide shared stories that really brought the history to life. We got to see the Greyhound Bus Terminal and even stopped at Alabama State University. I’d highly recommend it for anyone interested in civil rights history!
