You can’t experience Ketchikan without spotting some wildlife, so we have 3 stops just for possible sightings of bears, salmon, and eagles. You will also learn all about the history behind the iconic totem poles of Alaska as we explore the Totem Heritage Center and hear legendary stories that have been passed down for generations. All vans are equipped with microphones so everyone can enjoy the great narration of everything Ketchikan and Haida. We will also show you what medicinal plants and berries are edible as we travel through the Rainforest in comfy van. Traveling with us means no questions are left unanswered and that you leave Ketchikan satisfied with your cultural experience.

Q: Are there any age limits for the Private Alaska Native Wildlife & Scenic Experience?

A: There's no strict age limit, but it's more suited for kids 10 and up since some of the stories and wildlife can be better appreciated by older children. Younger kids are welcome, though! Keep in mind that you'll be in a van for a while, so that could be a factor if you're thinking of bringing little ones.

Q: What should I wear for the Ketchikan wildlife experience? Is it cold or rainy?

A: Ketchikan can be pretty wet and chilly, so I'd recommend wearing layers. A waterproof jacket is a must, and don’t forget comfy shoes since you might do a bit of walking. You might also want to check the weather app before you go, just in case!

Q: Can we reschedule if the weather is bad on the day of our tour?

A: Yes, you can reschedule if the weather conditions aren't suitable for the tour! Just contact the provider as soon as you can to find a new date. They’re really accommodating about this, which is great!

Had an amazing time on the wildlife tour!

I just got back from the Private Alaska Native Wildlife & Scenic Experience yesterday, and wow, it was incredible! The guide was really knowledgeable, and we saw eagles and even a bear! The stories about the totem poles were fascinating. Definitely bring layers and a good pair of binoculars (they provided them but having your own is better).
