Q&A
A: Definitely dress in layers! Fairbanks can get chilly, and the forest walk might be a bit cooler than you think. I recommend a warm jacket, hat, and gloves. Also, wear sturdy shoes since you'll be walking on uneven ground. You'll want to stay warm and comfy while interacting with those adorable reindeer!
A: Yes, this experience is designed for families! There aren't specific age limits, and kids generally love it. The educational part is great for their curiosity, and they can interact with the reindeer, which is always a hit. Just keep an eye on younger ones, as they can get a bit too excited around the animals.
A: If the weather isn't cooperating, they usually have flexible rescheduling options. Just reach out to Chena Outdoor Collective as soon as you know. They’re really good about accommodating changes, so you shouldn't have any issues getting another date. Just keep an eye on the forecast!

Just did the reindeer encounter in Fairbanks! So amazing!
I just came back from the Private Alaskan Reindeer Encounter and it was absolutely incredible! The 45-minute tour was packed with fun facts about reindeer and even included a stroll through the black spruce forest. The guides were super knowledgeable and really made the experience special. We got to pet the reindeer and take tons of photos! Highly recommend for families or anyone who loves wildlife. Can't wait to go back in winter!
Considering the reindeer encounter as a gift, is it worth it?
I’m thinking about getting the Private Alaskan Reindeer Encounter for my sister’s birthday. She loves animals and I think this would be a unique gift. Does anyone have experience with this yet? Is it as good as it sounds? I want to make sure it’s worth the money and not just a tourist trap.
