Q&A

Q: How long is the tour, and what time does it usually start?

A: The Big Island Circle Tour typically lasts around 10-12 hours, starting as early as 7 AM. Keep in mind that the exact duration can depend on the stops you make and how long you spend at each location. It's a full day but absolutely worth it for all the sights you'll see!

Q: Is this tour suitable for kids? Are there age limits?

A: Yes! This tour is great for families, and there's no strict age limit. Kids generally love the waterfalls and the black sand beach. Just be prepared for a lot of driving, so maybe bring some entertainment for the little ones!

Q: What should we wear? Is there any chance of rain?

A: Definitely dress in layers since the weather can change throughout the day, especially near the volcanoes. A rain jacket from the gear provided is a good idea, and comfortable walking shoes are a must! Check the forecast before you go; sometimes it rains briefly in the rainforest areas.

Just booked the Big Island Circle Tour — any tips?

I just got this tour as a gift for my parents! I’m super excited but feeling a bit nervous. They’re in their mid-60s and not super fit, so I'm worried about the hiking parts, especially at Volcanoes National Park. Can anyone confirm how strenuous it is? Also, should I have them bring anything special for the day?

Amazing day on the Big Island Circle Tour!

Wow, we just finished the tour and I can’t recommend it enough! The black sand beach at Punalu’u was breathtaking, and the coffee farm was such a treat. Our guide was super knowledgeable, and the included dinner in Waimea was fantastic! Anyone thinking about this as a gift? Do it! They’ll love it!
