Q&A
A: Definitely keep it casual! Shorts and a t-shirt are great, but I’d recommend bringing a hat and sunscreen since you'll be in the sun a lot. Also, wear comfortable shoes since you might be walking around Goldfield and Tortilla Flat. Layers are good, too, because it can get a bit cooler on the water during the cruise.
A: The Dolly Steamboat cruise is about an hour and a half long. You’ll have a narrated tour with lots of chances to see wildlife. The whole experience, including the Apache Trail drive and stops, takes most of the day, but the boat ride is the highlight!
A: Yes, this tour is great for kids! I’d say it’s best for ages 8 and up since they’ll enjoy the panning for gold and the boat ride. Younger kids might get bored during the drive. It’s a family-friendly experience for sure!

Just booked the Apache Trail tour with the steamboat cruise!
I'm so excited! I got this for my parents as a surprise gift. They love the outdoors and have always wanted to see the Superstition Mountains. I'm a bit worried about the weather in October, though. Anyone have tips for what to expect? Also, how's the gold panning experience? Is it worth it?
Had an amazing time on the Apache Trail Day tour!
Just got back from the tour and wow, it was fantastic! The views of Canyon Lake from the Dolly Steamboat were breathtaking. I even saw a bald eagle! Gold panning in Goldfield was a fun surprise, too. Just make sure to stay hydrated and wear a hat. Totally recommend this for anyone looking for a fun day out in Arizona!
