Enjoy a private and authentic cooking class in a local LA home with your host Jacqueline. This is a perfect experience for anyone looking to connect with local culture over food. In her home kitchen Jacqueline will teach you traditional Middle-eastern dishes from family recipes. After cooking, you will enjoy your meal together. Jacqueline grew up in the Middle East watching her grandmother cook every meal for the family from scratch. She has fond memories of helping her grandmother knead dough as a child. Jacqueline is of Lebanese origin, was born in Jordan, and lived in Palestine where food has important cultural and symbolic meanings that goes beyond what's on the plate. She now lives with her husband and son in America where she enjoys hosting friends and family for Middle-eastern themed dinners. Jacqueline welcomes you with “ahlan wa sahlan” which means welcome. Hospitality and generosity are ingrained in Jacqueline's culture and she truly makes you feel like part of the family.

Q&A

Q: What age range is this cooking class suitable for?

A: The class is great for anyone 12 and up! Jacqueline has hosted teens and adults alike, so it’s perfect for a family outing or a fun date night. Just keep in mind the younger kids might need a bit of extra supervision during the cooking. It’s all about enjoying the experience together!

Q: Is there a chance of cancellation due to weather? What if it rains?

A: Great question! Since the cooking class is held in Jacqueline's home, rain won’t be a problem at all. She’ll have everything set up inside, so you’re good to go regardless of the weather. Just make sure to bring your appetite!

Q: What do you recommend wearing for the cooking class?

A: Casual and comfy is the way to go! You’ll be cooking, so maybe wear something that you won’t mind getting a little messy. An apron is also a good idea, but Jacqueline provides everything you need. Just be ready to have fun and get your hands dirty!

Thinking of gifting a cooking class to my parents - any thoughts?

I’m considering the Private Authentic Middle Eastern Cooking Class with Jacqueline in Canoga Park for my parents’ anniversary. They love trying new foods and cooking together. The price is totally right (free!), and I love that they’ll learn to make traditional dishes! Has anyone here done it? What was your favorite part?

Just had the best time at the Middle Eastern cooking class!

Wow, I can't recommend this cooking class enough! Jacqueline is a gem. The whole experience felt so personal. I learned how to make falafel from scratch, and we had some delicious arak too! It’s great for anyone who wants to dive into Middle Eastern culture. Plus, we got to enjoy the meal together afterward! Perfect for a fun outing. 😊
