Q&A
A: There’s no strict age limit for kids on the tour. Jason is super accommodating, and families are welcome! Just make sure to let him know ahead of time if you're bringing a child so he can prepare. My 8-year-old loved it, and there's plenty of space for them to move around safely.
A: Definitely dress in layers! It can be chilly on the water, especially if it’s windy. A light waterproof jacket is great, and don’t forget good shoes—something non-slip is best. I wore my favorite hiking shoes, which worked out perfectly!
A: Jason is really understanding about weather cancellations. If it looks bad, he’ll give you a heads up and help you find a new date that works. Just make sure to check the forecast ahead of time! I had to reschedule my trip due to rain, and it was no hassle at all.

Just got back from the private boat tour in Ketchikan. It was AMAZING!
Seriously, if you’re thinking about doing this, go for it! Jason was such a great captain—really knowledgeable and fun. We saw seals, otters, and even a couple of whales from the hidden coves. The boat is super comfortable with a nice cabin to chill in. Bring your camera; the views are unreal! Can’t wait to go again next summer!
Considering this private boat tour as a gift, any thoughts?
I’m looking at gifting this to my parents for their anniversary! They love nature but are a bit older (70s). Is this a good fit for them? Any tips on what to ask Jason when I book?
