Q&A

Q: What should we wear for the whale watching trip? Is it cold on the water?

A: You'll want to wear light layers since it can get a bit breezy out on the water. Bring a light jacket or sweater just in case! Also, don't forget sunscreen and a hat – you’ll be out in the sun for a couple of hours. It's usually warm during the day, but early mornings can be a bit cooler.

Q: Can we reschedule if the weather doesn't cooperate? How does that work?

A: Yes, you can reschedule if the weather is bad. Just call the provider and they’ll work with you to find another time. They keep an eye on the forecasts, so they usually know a day in advance if the trip will be canceled. Just make sure to give them a call as soon as you know!

Q: Is this a good gift for kids? Are there age limits?

A: This is definitely a great gift for kids! There’s no specific age limit, but I’d recommend it for ages 5 and up since they can appreciate the whales and dolphins. Just keep in mind that younger kids might need extra supervision, especially with the waves. It's an amazing experience for families!

First-time whale watching – any tips?

I'm planning to book the private charter for my family this December. We’re super excited since it’ll be our first time! I’ve heard amazing things about seeing humpback whales up close. Any tips on what to expect or what to bring? Also, how long should we plan to be out on the water?

Just got back from the whale watching trip!

Wow, what an experience! We went out last week and saw soooo many humpback whales. The tour was super well organized, and the crew was friendly and knowledgeable. We left from Kaanapali Beach and it was such a beautiful day. Highly recommend this for anyone considering it as a gift – the memories are priceless!
