Relaxed, yet luxurious learning experience about Williamsburg before and after the restoration of Colonial Williamsburg in the late 1920s and early 1930s with photos and stories from either Williamsburg Before and After or Restoring Williamsburg. These photos help visualize and better understand the restoration of the world’s largest history museum. Most of the tour is seated during breakfast for those who enjoy the warmth (or air conditioning) indoors. This is an easily accessible tour, well suited for those who enjoy a creative culinary experience, breakfast on bad weather days or for any individuals with physical limitations. Our guide will offer an easy tour of some of the grounds including a look at the Golden Horseshoe Golf courses or admire some of the original décor of the hotel and grounds as well as a short walk to the Duke of Gloucester St., the most historic street in America. Note: Guests pay for their own breakfast including food, drinks and gratuities to hotel staff.

Q&A

Q: Is there a limit on how many people can join this breakfast experience?

A: There are usually around 10 to 15 spots available for each breakfast session. It's intimate, which makes for a great experience. If you're looking to book for a larger group, I'd recommend calling ahead to see if they can accommodate you!

Q: What’s the weather cancellation policy for this experience?

A: If the weather's bad enough to affect safety, they typically reschedule. They'll notify you via email, so make sure you check before you head out. It’s a good idea to keep an eye on the forecast, especially since some parts of the tour are outdoors!

Q: Can I bring my kids? What's the age limit?

A: Yes, kids are welcome! There’s no strict age limit, but I’d say it's best for ages 10 and up since they’ll appreciate the history part more. Plus, they’ll love the breakfast food! Just check that they're comfortable with sitting through a guided tour.

Anyone done the Colonial Williamsburg breakfast experience? Need tips!

I'm thinking about gifting this private breakfast experience in Williamsburg to my parents. They love history and good food! I read that it includes a tour with a guide and a book about the restoration. How’s the seating arrangement? Are there tables for two, or is it more of a big group setting? Also, what’s a must-try on the breakfast menu?

Just did the Colonial Williamsburg Breakfast—so cool!

I went with my sister last weekend and it was amazing! The guide was super knowledgeable about the restoration process. We loved the photos of how the town looked before. Plus, we had breakfast inside with AC (thank goodness for that!). Definitely recommend it if you’re into history. Worth every penny, even though we paid for our meals.
