Q&A
A: There’s no strict age limit for the hike, but it’s best suited for kids 8 and up, especially since the beach can be rugged. Just keep an eye on them near the tide pools and make sure they’ve got sturdy shoes! The guides are super accommodating and love sharing the experience with families.
A: Definitely pack an extra layer! Even in the summer, the ocean breeze can be chilly, especially when you’re near the tide pools. Wear comfy shoes that can get wet, and don’t forget a hat and sunscreen. You’ll thank yourself later!
A: If the weather is unsafe, they’ll likely reschedule you to another day. It’s a good idea to check their cancellation policy when you book just in case. Plus, the guides are super flexible and want you to have a great experience no matter what!

Just got back from the Rialto Beach hike - what an adventure!
I went on the Rialto Beach tide pooling hike last week and it was phenomenal! Our guide was super knowledgeable about all the sea life. We saw tons of anemones and even spotted a couple of sea lions! We did it at low tide, which I totally recommend. Just be prepared for some chilly water! Definitely worth the trip to Olympic National Park!
Considering this hike as a gift - any tips?
I’m thinking of gifting the Rialto Beach hike to my parents for their anniversary. They love nature but aren’t super experienced hikers. I read the tide pools are a highlight, but should I worry about the difficulty? Any tips on how to make it enjoyable for them?
