Join us on this fishing trip. ‘Eider’ is a Classic Downeast 37′ lobster boat designed and built by the legendary boat builder Osmond Beal. She was built in 1971 in the final evolution of the wood Beal’s Island lobster boats. At least one of Osmond Beal’s boat creations, the famous ‘Corned Hake’ of Milbridge, Maine was a winner in the World’s Fastest Lobster Boat races in the 1980s. ‘Eider’ has spent the first part of her life as a commercial lobster boat and is now available for your own private charter of up to 6 guests. Q&A

Q: What should we wear for the fishing charter? Is it chilly out on the water?

A: Definitely dress in layers! It can get chilly on the water, especially in the morning or late afternoon. I'd recommend a light jacket or sweatshirt, plus some comfortable shoes that can get wet. Don't forget a hat and sunglasses for sun protection too!

Q: Is this charter suitable for kids? What’s the age limit?

A: Yes, this fishing charter is great for kids! There's no strict age limit, but I'd say kids 6 and up would really enjoy it. Just make sure they’re supervised, and prepare for some fun learning about fishing and marine life with the captain.

Q: How is parking at Bar Harbor for the fishing charter? Any tips?

A: Parking can be tricky in Bar Harbor, especially during peak season. There’s a public parking lot near the harbor, but it can fill up fast. I recommend getting there early or looking for street parking. And don't forget to bring cash for the meter!

Just did the private fishing charter in Bar Harbor!

OMG, we had the best time on the Eider! The captain was super chill and really knew his stuff. We caught some mackerel, which was a ton of fun. The boat is really nice too, felt comfy for our group of 5. I'd totally recommend this as a gift for anyone who loves the ocean!

Considering gifting the fishing charter experience for my parents!

My parents love being outdoors and they used to fish a lot when they were younger. This charter sounds like such a great throwback for them! Plus, they’ve always wanted to try a lobster boat. Has anyone gifted this before? What did they think?
