Learn how to surf at the birth place of Surfing! We are conveniently located in the heart of Waikiki, right on the beach. We are only steps away from the ocean. Private group surf lessons require a minimum of 2 people to participate, and up to 5 students can be together in one group. You must be able to swim and over 12 years old to take this lesson. If you are 12 yrs and younger, you must take one-on-one private lessons instead of group lessons .If you want to maximize your time in the water, sign up for one-on-one private lessons. Make sure to ask about the photo services (with additional charge) to capture the moment!

Q: What's the age limit for the group surf lessons? My niece is 11.

A: Hey Jen! The group surf lessons have a minimum age of 12, so your niece will need to take private lessons if she’s 11. It’s great for her to get one-on-one instruction, and they can really focus on her skills. Just make sure she can swim because that's a requirement too!

Q: How does the rescheduling work if we get rained out?

A: Hey Mike! If it rains and the lesson gets canceled, they’ll let you know and you can reschedule for another day. Just keep an eye on the weather. They try to operate even if there’s a little drizzle, but safety comes first!

Q: What should we wear for the surf lesson? Any tips?

A: Hey there! You’ll want to wear a swimsuit and maybe a rash guard if you're sensitive to the sun or board rash. Flip-flops are fine to get to the beach, but you’ll be barefoot once you hit the water. Sunscreen is a must! Also, bring a towel and change of clothes for after.

Just booked a private surf lesson for my family at Waikiki Beachboys!

I’m super excited! We’re a family of four, and I think this will be a blast. I read that Waikiki is the birthplace of surfing, and I can’t wait to get my kids out on the water. I hope they can catch some waves! Has anyone else done this? Any tips on what to expect?

Thinking of gifting the surf lesson to my partner for their birthday!

I love this idea! He’s never surfed before, but I think he’d enjoy it. I’m a bit concerned about the group size, though. Would it be better to sign up for a private lesson? I want him to get the most out of it!
