Q&A
A: There’s technically no strict age limit, but kids must be at least 2 years old to fly. Also, keep in mind that younger kids may need to sit in their own seat, so you might want to check if that’s an extra cost. It’s definitely a fun experience for families if your kids are into adventures!
A: If the weather isn’t safe for flying, Mauna Loa Helicopters will reschedule your flight. They usually give you a call the day before to confirm. Just keep in mind that Kauaʻi can be unpredictable, so having a few days as a buffer for your schedule is a good idea!
A: Getting to the launch site is pretty straightforward! It’s located at the Līhuʻe Airport. There’s a parking lot right next to it, which makes it easy to find. Just be aware that it can get busy, so try to arrive a bit early to snag a spot.

Just did the Doors-Off Helicopter Experience in Kauaʻi - WOW!
I just got back from the private helicopter ride with Mauna Loa, and I’m still on cloud nine! The view of Manawaiopuna Falls was jaw-dropping! The cliffs of the Nāpali Coast are even more stunning from above. We had a perfect day, no clouds, and I felt so safe with the headsets on. If you’re thinking about this as a gift, DO IT! Totally worth it!
Thinking of gifting the Kauaʻi helicopter tour to my parents!
I’m looking for a unique gift for my parents’ anniversary, and this helicopter ride sounds incredible! They love nature and are adventurous, but my dad’s a bit scared of heights. Do you think this would be a good fit for them? Also, is there a way to keep the noise down? Any tips would be appreciated!
