A: There’s technically no strict age limit, but kids must be at least 2 years old to fly. Also, keep in mind that younger kids may need to sit in their own seat, so you might want to check if that’s an extra cost. It’s definitely a fun experience for families if your kids are into adventures!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the flight?

A: If the weather isn’t safe for flying, Mauna Loa Helicopters will reschedule your flight. They usually give you a call the day before to confirm. Just keep in mind that Kauaʻi can be unpredictable, so having a few days as a buffer for your schedule is a good idea!

Q: How hard is it to get to the helicopter launch site? Is parking easy?

A: Getting to the launch site is pretty straightforward! It’s located at the Līhuʻe Airport. There’s a parking lot right next to it, which makes it easy to find. Just be aware that it can get busy, so try to arrive a bit early to snag a spot.

Just did the Doors-Off Helicopter Experience in Kauaʻi - WOW!

I just got back from the private helicopter ride with Mauna Loa, and I’m still on cloud nine! The view of Manawaiopuna Falls was jaw-dropping! The cliffs of the Nāpali Coast are even more stunning from above. We had a perfect day, no clouds, and I felt so safe with the headsets on. If you’re thinking about this as a gift, DO IT! Totally worth it!
