This exhilarating, year round experience begins with a private helicopter flight from Manhattan to Lake Placid, site of the historic 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. Upon arrival you begin your very own Olympic Games with a Torch Relay and Opening Ceremony at the Lake Placid Olympic Venue of your choice. Channel your inner athlete by racing down the bobsled track, curling, skiing Whiteface, skating around the outdoor Olympic Speed Skating Oval or testing your hockey acumen in the 1980 Herb Brooks Arena, where the Miracle On Ice took place. Guests will be timed and scored throughout the Games and medals will be awarded. Offerings vary based on season. After an action-packed day relax at the rustic Lake Placid Lodge, a Relais and Chateaux property overlooking Lake Placid. Lunch is prepared from fresh, local ingredients. Tour guide and ground transportation between venues included. The experience is concluded with a smooth helicopter flight back to Manhattan at sunset.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for participants in the Olympic Experience?

A: There isn't a strict age limit, but participants should be at least 8 years old to fully enjoy the activities. The bobsledding, curling, and other sports can be somewhat physically demanding, so keep that in mind. Younger kids are welcome, but they might not be able to participate in everything. Just check with the provider beforehand if you're unsure!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the experience?

A: If the weather's too rough for flying, they usually offer to reschedule your helicopter ride. Safety is their top priority! Just keep an eye on the forecast and reach out to the provider to confirm any changes. They’re pretty flexible, but just make sure to arrange it as soon as possible.

Q: What's the best way to dress for the Olympic events in Lake Placid?

A: Dress in layers! It can get chilly out there, especially near the ice rinks and the bobsled track. I recommend wearing a good pair of sneakers for the bobsledding and curling, plus warm socks and a jacket. If you're skiing, definitely bring proper ski gear. And don’t forget sunglasses; the sun can be bright on the snow!

Thinking of gifting the Private Lake Placid Olympic Experience!

Hey everyone! I’m considering this helicopter trip to Lake Placid for my boyfriend’s birthday. The idea of racing on the bobsled track and getting a medal sounds super fun! I’m a bit worried though about the cost for the whole experience. Has anyone done this? Was it worth it? Did you have fun?
