Q&A

Q: Can we bring kids along for the hike?

A: Yes, kids are welcome on the hike! Just check with the tour provider for any specific age recommendations. It’s a great family-friendly experience, and the guide shares lots of interesting facts about the Black Hills and Mt. Rushmore which kids usually find super engaging. Plus, it’s a great way to bond with your family in nature!

Q: What's the cancellation policy like with the weather and stuff?

A: Cancellations due to bad weather can be tricky, but the provider usually offers a reschedule option. If it’s really bad, they'll either refund or let you pick another date. Just make sure to call ahead if you’re unsure about the conditions on your booked day. Always a good idea to keep an eye on the forecast!

Q: What should we wear for the hike? Is it strenuous?

A: Definitely wear comfortable hiking shoes and dress in layers since it can get chilly at higher elevations. The hike is moderate, so a decent level of fitness helps, but it's not crazy tough. Just pace yourself and enjoy the stunning views of Mount Rushmore and the scenery on the Flume Trail!

Just booked the Private Mount Rushmore & Flume Trail hike!

Hey everyone! I just booked this hike with Black Hills Adventure Tours for my partner's birthday. I’m super excited because we’ll get to learn about the history of the area while enjoying nature. I heard they provide lunch and snacks, which is awesome! I’m a bit nervous about the hiking part though since I’m not super fit. Anyone have any tips for a first-timer?

Planning to get the private hike experience as a gift!

Thinking about booking this experience for my Dad’s retirement gift. He loves hiking and has always wanted to see Mount Rushmore. I love that it’s private, so he can really get the full experience. Do you guys think it's worth the price? Any thoughts on the lunch they provide?
