Q&A

Q: Are there any age limits for kids on this tour? Would my 7-year-old be able to enjoy it?

A: There's no specific age limit for this tour, so your 7-year-old can definitely join! Many families take kids, and they usually love the wildlife in Custer State Park. Just keep in mind that it’s a full day, so plan some snacks and maybe a little extra patience for the bus ride.

Q: What should we wear? Is it going to be hot or cold in late October?

A: Late October can be pretty unpredictable weather-wise, so I'd recommend layers. Mornings can start chilly, but it may warm up during the day. Definitely wear comfortable shoes since you’ll be walking a bit at the memorials and park. Also, consider a light rain jacket, just in case!

Q: How does the parking situation work? Can we drive ourselves to the starting point?

A: You can absolutely drive yourself to the starting point in Rapid City. They have a designated parking area for the tour. Just make sure to arrive a bit early to find a spot. If you prefer not to drive, the tour includes pick-up options from select hotels.

Thinking of gifting the Mt Rushmore & Crazy Horse tour - any advice?

I’m planning to gift this Private Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse tour to my parents who are visiting from out of state! They love history and nature, so I think it’ll be perfect. I’m a little nervous about how long the day will be, but it sounds like it’s packed with cool stuff. Anyone done this tour before? What did you think?

Just got back from the Custer Park tour - wow!

I just finished the Private Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse tour, and it was amazing! The guide was super knowledgeable and friendly. Seeing Crazy Horse was definitely a highlight. The wildlife drive was also so fun; we saw bison up close! Highly recommend for anyone considering this as a gift.
