Q&A
A: No specific age limit, but keep in mind that some areas might not hold their attention for long. The guide is great with kids, and there's enough historical context to pique their interest. Just make sure they can handle walking, especially at Mount Vernon!
A: Yes, you can reschedule due to inclement weather! They’re pretty flexible about that, as long as you give them a heads-up. Just keep an eye on the forecast and reach out if you need to change dates.
A: The tour lasts about 4-5 hours, depending on traffic and how long you take at each stop. They don’t include lunch, so I’d suggest planning something nearby Mount Vernon. Plenty of good spots around there!

Just did the Arlington Cemetery and Mount Vernon tour – amazing experience!
I took my parents on the Private Mt. Vernon/Arlington Cemetery Tour last weekend, and wow, it was so worth it! We had a fantastic guide who shared stories about the places we visited. The Changing of the Guard was super moving, and Mount Vernon’s mansion was gorgeous! The transportation was really comfortable too, which made it easy for my parents. Just a heads up, we skipped lunch there and went for a local diner, which was a good call. Highly recommend this for anyone considering it as a gift!
Considering the Mt. Vernon tour for my history-loving friends!
I’m thinking about getting the Private Mt. Vernon/Arlington Cemetery tour for my friends’ anniversary. They love history and this seems perfect! I’m a little worried about the weather in November though. If it rains, how do they handle it? Also, what’s the best way to get there if we’re not staying in a hotel?
