Fastest crossing and closest harbor to Ni'ihau! Your crew will be Nick and Jessie. We are experienced captains and snorkel guides.Visibility is usually 100’s of feet, and you are likely to have close encounters with Hawaiian Monk Seals! Sharks, bait balls being hunted by predatory fish, manta rays, and walls of butterfly fish are common. We will also tour Lehua Crater, an extinct tuff cone volcano and now a seabird sanctuary that is home to at least 16 different species of seabirds. In between snorkel sessions we serve lunch and do a tour of Lehua Crater, pointing out all our favorite seabirds and showing off the beautiful “Keyhole”. We usually look for dolphins, whales (december-april) and manta rays as we do a mini tour around the Lehua crater.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for kids on the Ni’ihau Scenic Snorkel trip?

A: There’s no strict age limit, but kids should be comfortable in the water. They do provide life jackets, so younger ones can be safe while snorkeling. Just check with Nick and Jessie beforehand to make sure your kids can handle the experience. It's definitely a family-friendly trip!

Q: What should we wear for the snorkeling trip?

A: Wear a swimsuit and maybe a rash guard to protect against the sun. Don’t forget reef-safe sunscreen! Flip-flops are fine, but water shoes can be better if you’re walking on rocky areas. Bring a light cover-up for when you’re not in the water.

Q: What if the weather is bad on the day of our trip?

A: If the weather doesn’t cooperate, Nick and Jessie will usually reschedule you for another day. They monitor the conditions closely for safety. Just make sure you give them a call the day before to confirm or check if there’s a change. They’re super accommodating!

Just booked the Private Ni’ihau Scenic Snorkel for my family!

I’m super excited! We’re going in a couple of weeks and I can’t wait to see the Hawaiian Monk Seals. I’ve heard the visibility is amazing. I hope we get to see some dolphins too! I’m a bit nervous about my kids snorkeling, but I know they’ll have life jackets. Does anyone have tips for keeping kids calm in the water?

Had the best day ever on the Ni’ihau Scenic Snorkel!

Just got back from the snorkeling trip and wow, it was incredible! Nick and Jessie were fantastic, and we saw so many fish and even a manta ray! The lunch was great too, perfect after all that snorkeling. If you’re on the fence about this, GO FOR IT! You won’t regret it!
