Learn how to surf at the birth place of surfing with your very own certified Waikiki Beachboy.  We are located in the heart of Waikiki, just steps away from the water's edge! A private lesson is the best way to maximize your time on the water. Kids 12 and younger must take a private, one-on-one lesson for safety reasons. All participants must be able to swim. Make sure to ask about the photo services (with additional charge) to capture the moment.

Q&A

Q: Are there any age limits for this surfing lesson?

A: Yes! Kids 12 and younger must take a private one-on-one lesson for safety reasons. If you're looking to gift this to someone younger than that, it’s definitely a great fit! Just make sure they can swim, as all participants must be able to do that.

Q: What should I wear for the lesson? Is there a dress code?

A: You’ll want to wear a swimsuit since you’ll be in the water most of the time! Board shorts or a rash guard are great options too. Don’t forget sunscreen! You can also bring a towel and water to stay hydrated. Footwear is usually not needed since you'll be barefoot on the surfboard.

Q: Can you reschedule if the weather is bad?

A: Absolutely! If the weather isn’t cooperating, you can usually reschedule. Just make sure to give them a heads up as soon as possible. They’re pretty flexible with that, as safety is their priority. It’s definitely worth keeping an eye on the forecast leading up to your lesson.

Thinking about gifting a surfing lesson in Waikiki! Anyone done it?

I'm looking to surprise my brother with a private surfing lesson while we're in Oahu. The idea of learning from a certified Beachboy at Waikiki is just awesome! I saw they offer photo services too, which I think would be great for memories. Just curious if anyone has done this and if it's worth it? Any tips?

Anyone else nervous about their first surfing lesson?

I’m planning to take the Private One-On-One Individual Surfing Lesson next month and I’m super excited but kinda nervous! How did you feel on your first try? Did you have any issues? I'm 33, not super athletic, but I can swim. Just worried I might wipe out a lot!
