Q&A
A: Definitely wear something comfortable that you can move in! I’d recommend a swimsuit or quick-dry shorts. Flip-flops are okay for getting to the canoe, but once you're on the water, it might be better to go barefoot or wear water shoes for grip. The lifejacket should fit over whatever you’re wearing, so keep that in mind too!
A: It’s pretty accessible! While you’ll definitely need to paddle, the guides are super supportive and will help you get the hang of it. If you’re worried about fitness, just go at your own pace. Plus, it’s a lot of fun and the anticipation of catching a wave really keeps you motivated!
A: Yes, you can reschedule if the weather isn't favorable. The company is pretty flexible about this since safety is a priority. Just give them a call as soon as you know there might be issues. They’re usually good about finding another time that works for you!

Just booked the outrigger canoe surfing experience for my partner’s birthday!
I’m so excited! We’ll be in Oahu next month, and I think this will be an unforgettable experience. I love that it includes the canoe, snacks, and all the gear. Just hoping the weather cooperates! Does anyone have tips for first-timers?
Just completed the outrigger canoe surfing experience and it was AMAZING!
Seriously, if you’re on the fence about it, just go for it! The guides were super friendly and encouraged us the whole time. We caught some awesome waves! The view of Oahu from the water was breathtaking. I never thought I’d surf, but this was such a fun way to try. Highly recommend!
