On your journey, you'll sample an array of handmade hispanic specialties at family-owned businesses and see where the locals eat while avoiding chain restaurants and tourist traps. Throughout the experience, you'll learn firsthand what "Tex-Mex" actually is while enjoying it in the city in which it originated while also being enchanted by local landmarks such as San Fernando Cathedral, the River Walk, and the Alamo along the way. Q&A

Q: Is there a minimum age requirement for the food tour?

A: Yes, there is a minimum age requirement of 12 years for the tour. However, if you're bringing younger kids, just reach out to the provider as they may accommodate them in some way. It’s a family-friendly experience, but it’s better to check ahead.

Q: What should I wear for the food tour?

A: Wear comfy shoes since you'll be walking in downtown San Antonio. Dress casually, but keep in mind that it can get warm, so breathable fabrics are a good choice. Also, bring a light jacket if you’re doing the evening tour because it can get a bit chilly by the River Walk.

Q: What if the weather is bad on the day of the tour?

A: If weather conditions are severe, they usually will reschedule the tour. Just make sure to check their cancellation policy when booking. Most of the stops are in covered areas, so it’s not as big of a deal for light rain, but you definitely don't want a thunderstorm!

Had an amazing time on the San Antonio Food Tour!

Just got back from the Private Food Tour in San Antonio, and wow! The tacos were out of this world, especially the barbacoa. We also had this homemade gelato that I still can't stop thinking about. Our guide was super friendly and told us a ton of cool local history while we walked around. Definitely recommend it for anyone who loves food and wants to explore the city. Perfect gift for food lovers!

Thinking of getting the food tour as a gift!

My sister's birthday is coming up, and she loves trying new foods. This San Antonio food tour looks perfect! I'm a bit worried about the price though—are there any hidden fees? Also, what's the best way to get there parking-wise?
