When you come on a tour with me, I can show you the must see sites, as well as some out-of-the-way architectural gems that only a local like me knows about. I have researched local history quite extensively and am very knowledgeable. What makes this tour unique is my in-depth understanding of local history, lore, and architecture, and my abilities to answer whatever questions you might have, as well as to show you the hidden places that aren’t listed in every guidebook. We can arrange beforehand to focus on what you find most interesting: Architecture? History? Adobe construction? Fabulous views? Gardens (Santa Barbara has one of the largest varieties of trees in its downtown area of any city in the country!)? Perhaps a combination of them all! I can cater to whatever interests you have!

Q&A

Q: Is there a minimum age requirement for this walking tour?

A: There isn't a strict minimum age, but I would recommend it for ages 10 and up. The pace is easy, and Sullivan is really good at engaging with younger folks. If you have younger kids, just check with him first to see if he can tailor the experience to keep them interested!

Q: What should I wear for the walking tour? Is it casual?

A: Casual and comfy is the way to go! Since it’s a walking tour, wear comfortable shoes and dress in layers. Depending on the time of year, mornings can be a bit chilly, but it warms up later. Just check the weather for the day, and you’ll be all set!

Q: How does rescheduling work if the weather's bad?

A: Sullivan is really flexible with rescheduling! If it’s rainy or really windy, just shoot him a message, and he’ll work with you to find another day. Just make sure to reach out as soon as you know! He wants everyone to have a great experience.

Thinking of gifting the Santa Barbara history tour!

I’m considering gifting the private history and architecture walking tour in Santa Barbara to my mom. She's really into history and loves beautiful buildings. The price is great (free!) but I’m curious about how long the tours usually last and if it’s easy to schedule a good time with Sullivan. Anyone have thoughts?

Just did the walking tour, and it was AMAZING!

I went on the private history and architecture walking tour last weekend, and wow, it did not disappoint! Sullivan is incredibly knowledgeable and took us to places I’d never seen before, plus he shared some really cool historical stories. The views were stunning! Highly recommend it as a gift for anyone who loves history or architecture. Can’t wait to do it again!
