Q&A
A: There isn’t a strict age limit, but all participants must be certified divers. Generally, kids can dive if they’re at least 10 years old and certified. Just make sure they’re comfortable and have a parent or guardian with them. Diving is a great way to bond with young adults and teens, though!
A: You’ll want to wear a swimsuit and maybe a rash guard for sun protection. Bring your own gear if you have it, but they usually provide equipment too. Don’t forget a towel, sunscreen, and maybe a change of clothes for afterward. Also, a waterproof bag for your phone is a good idea!
A: If weather conditions aren’t safe for diving, they will likely reschedule your trip. Island Ventures is pretty good about keeping you updated on conditions. Make sure to check their cancellation policy, but they’ll do their best to get you out there when it’s safe!

Just booked a private scuba dive in Key Largo for my friend group!
Hey everyone! I just booked a private SCUBA diving charter for my group of 6 in Key Largo. We’re super excited to explore the John Pennekamp Coral Reef! I think it’ll be an amazing experience since it’s just us on the boat. I’ve heard they take you to 2 different sites and that the wildlife is incredible. Anyone done this before? Any tips for a first-timer?
Considering gifting this scuba dive experience to my husband
I’m thinking about surprising my husband with a private scuba dive for his birthday! He’s a certified diver and loves marine life. The Key Largo reefs seem perfect for him. Does anyone know if they provide all the equipment? I just want to make sure I'm picking a good gift!
