A: Great question! The private surf class is pretty flexible, and kids as young as 8 can join, as long as they can swim. It's a fantastic way for families to bond and learn together. Just make sure they’re comfortable in the water and can listen to the instructor. Also, check the weather before you book to ensure it's safe!

Q: What if the weather is bad? Can I reschedule?

A: Yes! If the weather is not suitable for surfing (like storms or heavy winds), WaveHuggers will work with you to either reschedule or find a different day that fits your schedule. They’re really understanding about that. Just make sure to contact them ahead of time if you have any concerns!

Q: What should I wear for the surf lesson? Is it cold in the water?

A: You’ll want to wear a swimsuit underneath the wetsuit they provide, which keeps you warm in the water! Newport Beach can get chilly, especially in the morning, so the wetsuit is definitely a plus. Just bring a towel and some flip-flops for before and after the class. You'll be good to go!

OMG, I just finished my private surf lesson with Wavehuggers, and it was a blast! The instructor was so patient and really helped me get up on the board. I was a little nervous at first but by the end, I was riding waves! Highly recommend this for anyone looking to try surfing, no matter your skill level. Plus, the wetsuit really kept me warm in the chilly water.
