Q: Is there an age limit for the private surf lessons?

A: There’s no strict age limit! The instructors at Sunrise Surf Academy work with all ages, from little kids to adults. They create a safe and supportive environment tailored to each person's ability. Just make sure to mention the age of the person you’re gifting it to when you book, so they can match them with the right instructor.

Q: What do I wear for the surf lesson? Any tips?

A: You’ll get a wetsuit from the academy, so just wear your swim trunks or swimsuit underneath. I'd recommend bringing a towel and some flip-flops for when you're on the beach. Also, sunscreen is a must since you’ll be out in the sun for a while! You might want to avoid any jewelry that could get snagged.

Q: What if the weather's bad on the day of the lesson? Can we reschedule?

A: Yes! If the weather doesn’t cooperate, they’ll definitely work with you to reschedule. Just keep an eye on the forecast and contact them if you think conditions might be an issue. They’re pretty flexible about it, and safety is their priority.

Has anyone taken a private surf lesson at Santa Monica Bay St? My boyfriend loves surfing but hasn’t had a lesson in years. The price is awesome, but I’m kinda nervous about how it’ll go. Any tips for making sure he has a great experience?
