We know each individual's needs whether they are fearful of the waves or need more assistance to take them out to the waves, everybody is different physically and emotionally. Q: What’s the age limit for the surfing lessons? Can kids join?

A: There’s no strict age limit, but kids as young as 7 can participate in the lessons! They usually pair them with a parent or guardian if they're really young. Just make sure they’re comfortable in the water. Surfriders Academy is great with kids, super patient and fun!

Q: What happens if the weather is bad or the waves are too rough?

A: If the conditions aren't safe, they’ll reschedule your lesson for a better day! Safety is their top priority, and they’ll work with you to find a new time. Just keep an eye on the weather forecast, but they’re really good about communication.

Q: Do I need to bring my own wetsuit and surfboard?

A: Nope! All gear is included in the lessons – surfboards and wetsuits are provided. It’s super convenient, especially for beginners who might not have their own stuff yet. Just bring a towel and some sunscreen!

I'm thinking about gifting these surfing lessons to my boyfriend for his birthday. He’s never surfed before but loves the ocean. How’s the vibe with the instructors? I saw it’s at Newport Beach, which is so beautiful! Just want to make sure it’s worth the price and he’ll enjoy it.

Just did my first surfing lesson at Surfriders Academy!

Holy cow, that was so much fun! I was super nervous but the instructors were amazing. They made me feel safe out on the water. Plus, Newport Beach is gorgeous! I can’t believe I actually caught a few waves. Totally recommend this for anyone, even if you’re scared of the ocean.
