Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for the planetarium show included in the tour?

A: Yes! The planetarium show is open to ages 5 and older. It's a great way for kids to learn about space in a fun environment. Just keep in mind that younger kids might need a little extra help understanding some concepts since it's a bit technical.

Q: How long is the actual tour and when do we get to see the telescope?

A: The tour duration can vary, but it's typically about 1 to 2 hours long. You'll get to see the telescope towards the end of the tour, and your guide will help you understand how it works. Definitely ask them any questions you have!

Q: What should we wear? Is it cold inside the observatory?

A: I'd recommend wearing layers! The observatory can get chilly, especially in the planetarium. So a light jacket is a good idea. It can also get warm if it’s a crowded day, so be ready to adjust!

Thinking of gifting a Griffith Observatory tour - anyone done it?

I'm looking to buy a private tour of the Griffith Observatory for my boyfriend's birthday. I've heard great things about the guide being super knowledgeable. Plus, the planetarium show sounds amazing! How was the timing for the tour? Did you enjoy the views from the observatory? I want it to be a special experience!

Anyone else blown away by the Griffith Observatory tour?

Just got back from the Griffith Observatory tour and wow, it was fantastic! Our guide had so many cool stories about LA history and the science behind the stars. The planetarium show was mind-blowing! Highly recommend. Just a heads up, parking can be tricky, so you might want to arrive early or look for nearby parking options.
