Q&A

Q: Can I reschedule if something comes up after booking the tour?

A: Yes, you can reschedule your tour, but it’s best to do it as early as possible. The provider is pretty flexible, but they do request at least 48 hours notice. Just contact them directly, and they’ll help you out. Also, if the weather's nasty, they might cancel and offer you a chance to reschedule too.

Q: Are there any age limits for this tour? I'm thinking of bringing my kids.

A: There aren't any strict age limits, but I’d say it's best for kids at least 7 or 8 who can walk and listen for a few hours. The tour can involve some walking and it's pretty educational, so younger ones might get bored unless they’re into history! Also, the guide is happy to adjust things if you have little ones.

Q: What should I wear for the Mesa Verde tour? Is it a lot of hiking?

A: Dress in layers! The weather can change quickly in Colorado, especially at higher elevations. Comfortable shoes are a must because there's some walking on uneven ground. You don’t need full hiking gear, but avoid flip-flops! Also, don’t forget sunscreen and a hat, it can get sunny out there.

Just did a private tour of Mesa Verde and it blew my mind!

I booked the private tour with an archaeologist guide last weekend and it was incredible! We got to see Cliff Palace up close, and our guide was super knowledgeable. They provided lunch, which was a nice touch. I totally recommend this for anyone into history or just looking for an amazing day trip from Durango. It felt really personalized, and I learned a ton about the Ancestral Puebloans. Worth every penny!

Considering gifting the Mesa Verde tour, any advice?

I’m thinking of getting this tour for my parents as an anniversary gift. They love history and nature! I’ve heard good things but want to know if anyone has tips for making it extra special. Any recommendations on what to ask the guide for or if there's a best time of year to go?
