All my tours are private and customized to the client. I have my commercial insurance and I am certified to drive passengers by the State of Colorado. I am somewhat of a history buff and have many tales of the Colorado Wild West as well as my family history of the Hatfields and the McCoys. In addition I am a certified Internatational Guide and I have traveled extensively inside and outside the US. As a child I learned about other cultures as I lived in Switzerland and France and as an adult Mexico and Colombia. I love showing people the beautiful mountains of Colorado and the history behind the areas that we will visit. Please note that Mount Evans will be closed during part of the winter and spring due to icy conditions on the road. It is usually open all summer into mid fall. If closed I will take people up to the Continental Divide which is about 12,000 feet above sea level.

Q&A

Q: Is there an age limit for children to join the tour? I want to take my kids!

A: There’s no specific age limit, and families are welcome! Just keep in mind that some parts of the tour can be strenuous due to the altitude. I took my 10-year-old and she loved it, but I’d recommend checking with the guide about what your kids can handle.

Q: What should I wear for the Mount Evans tour? Is it cold up there?

A: Definitely dress in layers! Even in summer, it can get chilly at higher elevations like Mount Evans. A light jacket, comfortable shoes, and sunscreen are a must. You might want to check the weather forecast too.

Q: Can we reschedule if the weather goes bad? I want to make sure this is a solid gift.

A: Yes, you can absolutely reschedule if weather conditions aren't safe! The guide will work with you to find a day that works. Just make sure to give them a heads up as soon as possible.

Just did the private Red Rocks tour and it was epic!

I recently took the private tour that included Red Rocks and Mount Evans. Our guide was super knowledgeable and shared some fascinating stories about the Wild West. We even got to see Echo Lake which was breathtaking! I went with my family, and it was perfect for all ages. Just a heads up – the drive can get a bit steep, so be prepared for that. Totally worth it, tho!

Considering this tour as a birthday gift!

I'm thinking about giving my partner the private tour for his birthday. We both love exploring new places and I think he'd appreciate the history aspect too. How long did the tour last? And did you feel like you saw enough? Also, is it a good experience for someone who's not super fit?
