Q&A
A: There aren't any strict age limits for this tour, but I’d say it’s best for teens and adults who can walk a bit. Kids might enjoy some parts, but it’s really geared towards adults who appreciate history. Just keep in mind that some of the stories might not be suitable for younger audiences!
A: Definitely wear comfortable shoes! It is a walking tour, and we covered quite a bit in about 2 hours. Dress casually and check the weather; if it’s hot, light clothing is ideal. Layering is a good idea for cooler days. Just be prepared to enjoy some awesome sights!
A: Yes! You can usually reschedule this tour with a little notice. It’s best to check with Manhattan Unlocked directly for their policy, but I’ve read they’re pretty flexible. Just make sure to let them know as soon as possible!

Just did the Madison Square Gilded Age tour—wow!
I went on the private tour last week and it was incredible! Our guide was super knowledgeable and shared so many cool stories about the Roosevelts and Astors. The proximity of everything was really surprising, especially how close the fancy places were to the nightlife in the Tenderloin. It definitely made me appreciate how vibrant NYC was back then. I think this would make a great gift for my history-loving friend!
Gift idea: Private Gilded Age Tour
I'm considering this private tour around Madison Square for my mom's birthday. She loves history, especially the Gilded Age stuff. Has anyone done it? Is it fun? I saw it includes an expert guide, which sounds great, but is it worth the price? Also, how long does it actually last?
