Q&A

Q: How flexible is the rescheduling policy if the weather doesn't cooperate?

A: They’re pretty flexible! If the weather is bad, they’ll reach out to you at least a day before to reschedule. Just keep an eye on your email. I had to change my booking once, and they were super accommodating. Best to call them if you're unsure!

Q: Are there age limits for kids? Thinking of gifting this to my whole family.

A: There’s no strict age limit, but they recommend kids be at least 5 years old since it can get a bit bumpy. Younger kids might get scared of the waves. I took my 8-year-old, and they loved it! Just make sure everyone wears a life jacket, which they provide.

Q: What should we wear? I’m not sure what’s appropriate for a whale watching tour.

A: Definitely dress in layers! It can get chilly out on the water, even in summer. A light waterproof jacket is a must. I wore my hiking boots to keep my feet warm and dry. Also, don't forget sunglasses and sunscreen—your skin will thank you later!

Just got back from the Private Whale and Wildlife Viewing tour in Hoonah!

OMG, what an experience! We saw humpback whales, sea lions, and even some puffins! The guides were amazing—so passionate and knowledgeable. I took my mom for her birthday, and she was in awe the entire time. Seriously, if you're thinking about it as a gift, DO IT! It’s worth every penny. We went on a sunny day, but they gave us jackets just in case, which was nice. Definitely going to book again next year!
