Q&A
A: There isn't a strict weight limit, but the boat is best suited for groups of up to 6 people comfortably. The captain will make sure everyone has enough space to enjoy the views. Just keep in mind the more people you have, the less room there is for movement.
A: The prime time for whale watching is from May to September when the humpback whales are most active. We saw plenty in late July during our trip, along with seals and otters! It's definitely a good idea to plan around these months for the best experience.
A: Absolutely! The tour is customizable based on what your group wants to see. Just coordinate with the captain beforehand, and they'll do their best to accommodate your interests—whether it's whales, otters, or other marine life.

Just got back from the whale watching tour! Here's my experience!
I took the private whale watching tour off Baranof Island last month with my family, and it was incredible! Our captain was super knowledgeable and friendly. We were lucky to see humpbacks breaching and a few sea otters playing around. The boat is comfy, especially the cabin when it got a little chilly. Highly recommend this as a gift for anyone who loves nature or marine life!
Considering getting this for my dad's birthday!
I'm thinking about booking the private whale watching tour in Sitka for my dad. He loves the ocean and has always wanted to see whales up close. What should I know before I book? Any advice on the experience or how to make it special?
