Q&A

Q: What’s the best time to book this tour? Is there a specific month that offers better wolf sightings?

A: March is generally the best time for wolf sightings in Yellowstone, especially in Lamar Valley. By then, the wolves are really active, and you might even catch them interacting with grizzly bears as they emerge from hibernation. Booking for late February to early March can maximize your chances, but keep an eye on the weather too!

Q: Is there an age limit for this tour? I’d love to take my kids with me.

A: There's no strict age limit, but it's recommended for kids 10 and up due to the duration and focus needed for wildlife viewing. They should be able to stay quiet and patient, especially when we’re spotting wolves! It’s a great learning experience for kids who love nature.

Q: What do you wear for this experience? It sounds cold and I want to be prepared.

A: Definitely dress in layers! A good base layer and insulated jacket are key since it can be chilly, especially in the mornings. Don't forget warm gloves, a hat, and waterproof boots since you could be walking in snow. A good pair of binoculars is also a must if you have them.

Just got back from the Yellowstone Winter Wolf Watching tour!

OMG, this experience was everything I hoped for and more! We started early from Bozeman and our guide was super knowledgeable. We saw several wolf packs in Lamar Valley, and the bison were everywhere. The lunch they provided was really good too—those artisan sandwiches hit the spot! I totally recommend it for anyone looking for a unique outdoor adventure.

Thinking of gifting the Yellowstone Wolf Watching experience!

I’m looking to buy this for my brother’s birthday. He loves wildlife and photography, so I think it would be perfect! I’m just a little nervous about whether he’ll be able to see decent action with the wolves. Anyone have tips or know if it’s a good time to book in March?
