Q&A
A: There isn't a strict minimum age, but I'd recommend kids around 8 and up would get the most out of it! The hikes, like the Thurston Lava Tube, can be a bit steep in places, and the day is packed, so younger kids might tire out. Just check with the provider to see what they recommend based on your group’s needs!
A: Yes, the tour provider is pretty flexible with rescheduling due to weather. They'll typically reach out the day before to confirm and suggest alternatives if there's a chance of rain. Just make sure to check your email for updates!
A: Definitely wear comfy clothes and bring layers! It can get a bit cooler at Volcanoes National Park, especially in the evening. I suggest sturdy shoes for the hikes and a light rain jacket just in case. And don't forget sunscreen and a hat!

Just got back from the Public Circle Island Adventure!
Wow, what a day! We hit all the highlights – Waipiʻo Valley was breathtaking and Akaka Falls felt like something out of a movie. Our guide was super knowledgeable, and I loved the local bites at Hilo Farmers Market. We even spotted some honu at Punaluʻu Black Sand Beach! Highly recommend this adventure to anyone visiting the Big Island. Just be prepared for a long day but it’s totally worth it!
Thinking of gifting the Circle Island Adventure – is it good for older folks?
My parents are visiting and I want to get them something special. They’re in their late 60s and pretty active, but I’m wondering if the hikes are manageable for them. Also, how long is the drive? I want them to have fun but not be exhausted!
