Q&A
A: Yes, there is a parking fee of around $20 for the day, so keep that in mind when planning your budget. For the self-guided tour, I’d recommend budgeting at least 2-3 hours to explore the ship and check out the exhibits. You can really take your time with the audio tour, which adds a lot of depth to the experience!
A: There aren't any strict age restrictions for the self-guided experience—it's great for kids! However, keep in mind that some parts of the ship might be a bit spooky due to the haunted history. Just make sure to keep an eye on younger kids, as there are some steep stairs and narrow walkways.
A: Dress in layers! The inside of the ship can be a little chilly due to air conditioning, especially in the lower decks. Comfortable shoes are a must since you’ll be walking a lot. Definitely avoid heels or anything too fancy unless you’re planning to take a short trip.

Thinking about giving the Queen Mary self-guided experience as a gift!
Hey everyone! I’m considering this self-guided experience at the Queen Mary in Long Beach for my sister’s birthday. She loves history and unique places, so I think she’d really enjoy exploring the iconic ship. I’ve heard the audio tour is super informative and fun. Just wondering if anyone has gone recently and how the experience was?
Just did the Queen Mary tour, and wow!
So I finally checked out the Queen Mary and it exceeded my expectations! The self-guided tour lets you go at your own pace, and the haunted history sections were a thrill! There's so much to see – the engine room is a must-visit. If you’re thinking about it as a gift, do it! Just be prepared for some steep stairs.
