See some of New York’s best architecture on this expert-led Midtown Manhattan walking tour with your ticket to NYC’s newest observatory — SUMMIT One Vanderbilt — included! We’ll start at the famous Empire State Building, where you’ll capture the perfect photo of this skyscraper. On Fifth Avenue, hear how Macy’s changed New York and America. See more iconic skyscrapers from Bryant Park, the “town square” of Midtown, as you take in views of the striking American Radiator Building and learn how it inspired artists. Your guide will share the stories of these beloved landmarks, from the Chrysler Building to the New York Public Library, pointing out details in the Art Deco and Beaux-Arts architecture along the way. Finally, we come to One Vanderbilt, standing more than 1,400 feet tall. On the 91st through the 93rd floors, you can experience the NYC skyline in a whole new way — with lights, mirror, and interactive art.

Q&A

Q: Is the SUMMIT One Vanderbilt experience included in the tour, or do I need to buy that ticket separately?

A: The ticket to SUMMIT One Vanderbilt is included with your tour, so you don’t have to buy it separately. The tour guide will take you through all the amazing architecture, and you get to go up to the observatory afterward. Just make sure to check the weather, since if it’s too cloudy, the views might not be as great!

Q: What’s the walking difficulty level for this tour? I’m not super fit.

A: The walking tour is pretty accessible and not overly strenuous. You’ll be walking at a leisurely pace and stopping frequently to learn about the buildings, so it shouldn’t be too hard. Just wear comfortable shoes and you’ll be fine! Plus, the tour guide is really good at making sure everyone keeps up!

Q: What if it rains on the day of the tour? Can we reschedule?

A: If it rains or the weather’s really bad, they’ll typically allow you to reschedule your tour. Just make sure to contact them in advance. It’s better to experience the architecture with good views from SUMMIT One, after all! They’ve been pretty flexible about rescheduling.

Just did the Race to the Sky tour and it was amazing!

I took the NYC Architecture Tour and included the SUMMIT One ticket. Seriously, it was such a cool experience! Our guide knew all the hidden stories behind the buildings. The view from SUMMIT was breathtaking! We went on a clear day, so you could see everything from Central Park to the Statue of Liberty. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting NYC or just looking for a fun day out.

Thinking of gifting the NYC Architecture Tour—thoughts?

I’m considering getting this tour for my parents. They love architecture and have never been to SUMMIT One. Do you guys think it’s a good gift? How long is the walking part? Any tips for the best experience?
