Q&A
A: There aren’t strict age restrictions, but kids should be at least 5 years old to fully enjoy the experience. The tour is designed to be family-friendly, and the local guides are great with kids! Just make sure they can sit still in the raft and follow safety instructions.
A: Dress in layers! It can get chilly, especially in Alaska. Quick-drying clothes are best, and definitely bring a light jacket. Don’t forget good shoes that you don’t mind getting wet. Plus, sunglasses are a must to protect against glare from the water.
A: Yes, Rainbow Glacier Adventures is pretty accommodating. They allow rescheduling with at least 48 hours notice. Just give them a call or send an email, and they’ll help you out! It’s always good to check their policy on their website too.

Thinking of gifting the rafting tour in Haines! Anyone done it?
I’m considering this rafting trip to the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve as a birthday gift for my brother. He loves nature and wildlife, especially birds! I’ve heard great things about seeing the eagles up close, but I’m wondering if there are any other highlights I should know about? He’s 28 and not super outdoorsy, so I hope this is a good choice!
Just did the rafting tour and it was AMAZING!
I went on the rafting trip last weekend and it was such a wonderful experience! Seeing the bald eagles was surreal. We saw so many of them, especially during the feeding frenzy! The lunch was great too – definitely go for the cookies! Can’t recommend this enough for anyone who loves the outdoors. Plus, our guide was super fun and knowledgeable.
