Q&A

Q: What should we wear for the rainforest trek? Is it muddy?

A: Definitely wear sturdy hiking boots, as some parts can be muddy, especially after rain. I'd recommend dressing in layers since it can get chilly and wet, but you'll warm up while walking. Waterproof jackets are a must, and maybe bring an extra pair of socks just in case!

Q: How long does the trek usually take?

A: The trek can vary from 2 to 4 miles depending on the trail chosen by your guide, and it usually takes between 2 to 4 hours. It's a good amount of time to take in the sights without feeling rushed. Just remember to factor in breaks for snacks and taking photos!

Q: Is there an age limit for this trek? I want to take my kids!

A: There's no strict age limit, but the trek can be challenging for younger kids. It's best suited for ages 8 and up, as they need to be able to handle some uneven terrain. If your kids are used to hiking, they should be fine. Just keep an eye on them near the edge of the trails!

Just got back from the Rainforest & Waterfalls Trek in Juneau!

Wow, what an experience! My partner and I went last week, and it was stunning. We saw a black bear from a distance and tons of bald eagles! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much about the Tongass National Forest. The waterfalls were breathtaking, and the trail was well-maintained. Definitely pack some snacks, though—there's a lot of walking involved!

Thinking of gifting the Rainforest Trek. Need opinions!

I’m looking to gift this trek to my adventurous sister. She loves nature and hiking, but I'm not sure if it’s a good fit. Is it manageable for someone who isn't super experienced? Plus, how’s the wildlife? Any tips or insights would be super helpful!
