Q&A

Q: Are there any age limits for the mine tour and gold panning activity?

A: There's no strict age limit for the tour, but kids under 5 might struggle with the physical aspects of the mine. I'd say kids aged 6 and up will enjoy it a lot. As for gold panning, it's super fun for all ages! Just keep an eye on younger kids when they're near the water.

Q: What should we wear for the mine tour? Is it cold underground?

A: Definitely wear layers! It can be chilly underground, so a light jacket or sweater is a good idea. Good walking shoes are a must, as the mine can be rocky. Plus, you’ll want clothes that can get a little dirty when you try gold panning!

Q: Can you reschedule if the weather's bad?

A: Yes! If the weather's really bad, they will work with you to reschedule. Just make sure you call ahead to let them know. As long as it's not a total downpour, they usually run the tours, but safety first!

Thinking of gifting the Real Gold Mine Tour!

Hey everyone! I'm planning to gift my parents the Real Gold Mine Tour in Breckenridge. They love history and outdoor activities. The tour sounds super fun, especially the gold panning part where they can keep what they find. Has anyone done this? How's the experience with the burros? I'm worried they might be too old for the physical part.

Just got back from the Country Boy Mine tour!

Wow, what a fantastic experience! We did the Real Gold Mine Tour last weekend, and it was so worth it. The underground part was really cool, and we learned a ton about mining history. Gold panning was exciting too – I found a few tiny flakes! The burros were adorable, and my kids loved feeding them. Highly recommend if you’re in Breckenridge!
