Q&A
A: There isn't a strict age limit, but it's recommended for ages 12 and up, as some historical themes might not resonate with younger kids. However, if kids are interested in history or architecture, they should have a great time! Just keep in mind it’s a lot of walking, so they should be able to keep up for 2.5 hours.
A: Definitely wear comfortable shoes since you'll be walking for 2.5 hours! NYC streets can be uneven in some spots, so you don’t want to be in heels or sandals. Dress in layers too; it can get warm during the day but cooler in the evening. A light jacket might be useful!
A: If there's rain, they often will reschedule the tour. They try to give you as much notice as possible, usually the day before. Just make sure to check your email for updates or contact them directly to confirm. They’re generally very accommodating!

Thinking about gifting the walking tour of 1840s NYC - Thoughts?
I’m considering getting this walking tour for my history-loving partner's birthday. It starts at the Public Theater and ends in the old Five Points area! Sounds super cool, especially with the connection to 'Gangs of New York'. Anyone done it? Is it as interesting as it sounds? How was the guide?
Just did the walking tour! Here’s my experience!
I went on the 1840s NYC walking tour last weekend, and wow, it was a blast! The meeting place at the Public Theater is easy to find, and our guide was super knowledgeable. Walking through the old neighborhoods and hearing the stories was just incredible. Ending at the Five Points was a great touch! Would definitely recommend for anyone who loves history.
