Q&A
A: There’s no strict age limit! Kids of all ages can enjoy this trip. The steam train ride is particularly fun for little ones, and the stops at Santa Cruz Harbor and Capitola Beach are pretty family-friendly. Just make sure they’re old enough to appreciate the scenery and not get bored on the bus ride!
A: They usually will reschedule if the weather is really bad, but it’s best to check their cancellation policy beforehand. If it looks like rain, you might want to just bring a good jacket and enjoy the forest! It adds to the adventure.
A: I’d recommend wearing layers! The redwoods can be cool and shady, while Santa Cruz can get warm. Also, comfy shoes are a must; you’ll want to walk around the beach and the train ride can be a bit bumpy. Bring a towel for the beach too!

Just did the Redwood Forest trip and it was amazing!
I went on the Redwood Forest trip from San Francisco last week and wow! The steam train ride through those massive trees was a highlight for me. We spent some time in Santa Cruz Harbor grabbing fresh fish tacos which were delicious. The best part was definitely chilling at Capitola Beach after! Perfect day out. Highly recommend this for a gift or just a fun day trip!
Thinking of gifting the Redwood Forest trip for my parents!
I’m considering this as a gift for my parents' anniversary. They love nature and the ocean. Has anyone gone recently? Do they offer any discounts for groups or anything? I want to make sure it’s a nice day for them.
