On your reindeer tour, our experienced reindeer handlers will introduce you to the herd of reindeer at Borealis Basecamp, and you can feed, meet, and take pictures with these incredible animals. On your snowmachine tour, your route traces a path along the famous Trans Alaska Pipeline, with a detour through a genuine Alaskan trapline. This tour will treat you to sweeping views of the arctic valleys and the White Mountains as you ride at a comfortable pace through the snowy forest. Watch out for animal tracks in the snow, or if you're lucky enough, wild life sightings can happen even in the coldest of conditions! As you ride, your guide will point out notable features in the trail and can answer questions you may have about the area.

Q&A

Q: Can kids participate in the snowmobile tour, or is there an age limit?

A: Yes, kids can join the snowmobile tour! They typically require children to be at least 12 years old to drive their own snowmobile, but younger kids can ride as passengers. Just make sure to check with the provider for any specific safety guidelines. It's a great way for the whole family to experience the beauty of Fairbanks!

Q: What if the weather is bad on the day of the tour? Can we reschedule?

A: The team at Basecamp Adventures is really accommodating when it comes to weather cancellations. If the conditions aren’t safe for the tour, they'll help you reschedule without any extra fees. Just make sure to keep an eye on the weather forecast leading up to your date!

Q: What should I wear for the snowmobile tour? Do they provide gear?

A: You’ll definitely want to dress warmly! Basecamp Adventures provides snow gear, but I recommend wearing thermal layers underneath, especially if you get cold easily. Waterproof gloves and a good hat are also a must—those Arctic winds can bite! Bring extra socks just in case.

Thinking of doing the Reindeer and Snowmobile Day Trip!

I'm really excited about this Reindeer and Snowmobile trip in Fairbanks! It looks like a perfect combo of fun and adventure. Has anyone gone? I heard the $20 lunch voucher is solid too! I can't wait to feed the reindeer and ride through the snowy scenery. Just trying to figure out the best time to book it, especially with winter coming. Any tips would be awesome!

Gifted the Reindeer Tour for my niece's birthday!

I got my niece the reindeer and snowmobile experience as a birthday gift. She's 13 and loves animals! I’m a bit nervous though—what if it’s too cold for her? Did anyone take younger kids? I hope she has an amazing time! Planning to tag along for the snowmobile part. Let me know your experiences!
