Q&A
A: There’s no strict age limit for the Richmond's Historic Market Food Tour! Kids are definitely welcome, and since it’s all about food, I think your daughter will love it. Just keep in mind that some of the tastings might be more geared towards adult palates, but the guides are very accommodating. It’s a great way to introduce her to different cuisines!
A: If the weather doesn't cooperate, you can usually reschedule your tour pretty easily. The Secret Food Tours team is great about working with you. Just make sure to check their policy on rescheduling when you book. I had to change my date because of a storm, and they were super helpful!
A: Casual is definitely the way to go! Richmond is pretty laid-back, and you'll be walking a bit on cobblestones, so comfy shoes are a must. I wore shorts and a nice t-shirt, and I felt totally fine. Plus, you want to be ready to enjoy all that delicious Southern food!

Just finished the Richmond Food Tour—AMAZING!
I recently went on the Richmond's Historic Market Food Tour with some friends, and it was such a blast! We got to taste everything from duck bao buns to she-crab soup, and the stories behind each dish were just as good as the food! Meeting at the Capitol was a perfect spot to start. Totally recommend this for anyone looking for a fun day out in Richmond. Oh, and that secret dish? Don’t miss it!
Thinking about gifting the food tour for my foodie friend!
I’m really considering getting the Richmond food tour as a gift for my friend who loves to try new foods. She’s been wanting to visit Richmond, and I think this would be perfect! Does anyone know how long the tour usually lasts? I want to make sure she can fit it into her schedule.
