Q&A

Q: Is there a weight limit for rafters on the Rio Grande Gorge trip?

A: There’s no strict weight limit mentioned, but they do advise anyone over 250 lbs to check in with the guides beforehand. Safety is super important, so they want to make sure everyone can enjoy the trip. It’s also a good idea to call them directly if you have concerns about size or skill level.

Q: What’s a good age range for kids on this rafting trip?

A: The minimum age is 5, so it’s definitely family-friendly! Kids that age love the float section, and the guides are great with them. I took my 7-year-old, and they had a blast! Just make sure they're okay with being outside for a full day.

Q: What should we wear and bring for a day on the river?

A: Dress in quick-drying clothes, like swimwear and a light shirt. Definitely bring a hat and sunscreen since you’ll be in the sun a lot. Water shoes or sandals that strap on are a must. As for extras, pack a waterproof bag for your phone and any snacks you might want.

Thinking about gifting the Rio Grande Gorge full day trip!

I’m considering getting this experience for my family as a gift. We’ve never been rafting before, and I think it would be such a fun adventure! I love that it includes lunch and the guides seem really experienced. Just curious if anyone can share how the morning float is for beginners? Any tips for a first-time family going?

Just got back from the Rio Grande Gorge full day trip!

Wow, what a day! The scenery was breathtaking, especially on the float section. We had the chicken fajitas for lunch, and they were surprisingly good! The afternoon whitewater was so thrilling; it’s perfect for beginners and families. Highly recommend this experience if you're in Santa Fe!
